Priyasha Saluja of The Cinnamon Kitchen Raises Funding At Shark Tank With One Of The Most Unique Pitches

Founder of The Cinnamon Kitchen, Priyasha Saluja was the first pitcher on Day-2 of Shark Tank India season 3, where she managed to bring Aman Gupta on board with her unique pitch. The Cinnamon Kitchen is a plant-based confectionery, which claims to be 100% gluten-free and preservative-free.

The company sells cakes and chocolates which are made using dates, millet, and maple instead of sugar and refined wheat flour. But, what stood out for the company was the founder’s pitch, which impressed all the sharks to make offers.

Aman Gupta of Boat Invests in Priyasha Saluja’s The Cinnamon Kitchen

Priyasha in her pitch mentioned her struggle and journey to start the Cinnamon Kitchen and revealed she used to cut logos for packaging by her own because of low investments. However, what won every shark’s heart was her determination to not give up and convince the sharks.

Priyasha with her pitch asked for 60 lakh for a 2% equity share in her company. Aman Gupta, who eventually ended up investing in the company, referred to Priyasha as a movie character who refused to listen to ‘no’ from Guru movie, as Priyasha was making her point to every shark when they were calling themselves out of the deal. When Aman made his first offer, which was 10 lakh for 2% equity and 50 lakh debt at 12% interest, the entrepreneur from Delhi claimed that she was getting better offers from banks on debt as she has a good civil score, leaving sharks amused.

The deal was finalized at 60 lakhs for 5% equity in the company by Aman Gupta. However, things didn’t end there as the Founder of Zomato, Deepinder Goyal had to share his contact details with Priyasha, as he had promised earlier to help her.

Goyal wanted to be out of the deal due to conflict of interest with ‘Blinkit’ but claimed that he would be available to help her.
