Zomato in Corporate Parks: Ordering Zomato for lunch has become almost like a reflex to most of the office youth. It has a wide consumer base but not one without challenges. Zomato has come up with a new initiative to take on one of the most faced challenges with this consumer base. This new initiative especially caters to corporate parks. In this Zomato has introduced mini hubs within office premises where delivery riders drop off orders. These orders are then delivered directly to the desk of the office workers by ‘walkers’.
How Zomato Will Function in Corporate Parks?
The major challenge faced while delivering food to office premises is that the delivery partner is not allowed any further than the reception and the customers have to leave their workstations to collect it from the reception. All the while the partner will be waiting for the customer. Although minor, it is an inconvenience and takes up the time of both the customer and the delivery partner. To address this issue, a new initiative by Zomato was launched.
A distinctive feature of this initiative is the specially assigned “walkers”. The people will be stationed at the micro hubs that are set up in office premises. The delivery partner will deliver the order at these hubs and then walkers are responsible for delivering your order to your workstations. Moreover, Zomato is promising “no calls from delivery partners”, and dedicated “walkers” for each floor.
In an exclusive interview with Entrackr with an anonymous source it was revealed that Zomato is currently in the testing phase of this initiative. They are trying this out in a few places, starting with Gurugram, Haryana, to see how well it works. If it’s a hit, they might scale this service across the top five cities.
Zomato’s 2nd initiative in recent days
Zomato, a few days back, introduced a pure veg mode and fleet that would cater to the vegetarian customer’s dietary preferences. In this mode, the customers would be shown only vegetarian restaurants and the food would be delivered by the fleet that’ll wear a green uniform different from Zomato’s signature red uniform.
This was done to ensure no cross-contamination with nonvegetarian food items would happen. However, a debate regarding the concerns about potential discrimination resulted in some changes. The delivery partners will all be wearing the same uniform to maintain inclusivity while ensuring customer safety. Deepindra expressed his gratitude for the feedback while highlighting the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction and innovation.
