Anupam Mittal’s Academics
Anupam completed his schooling at Jai Hind College. Due to his father’s hard work, Anupam was able to attend Boston College in Massachusetts, where he completed his MBA in Operations and Strategic Management.
Despite his academic achievements, he faced difficulties securing a job there. Fearing his parents would ask him to come back to India, Mittal did not inform them about his situation, and kept his struggles hidden, even though he found himself without financial resources.
Anupam Mittal’s Career
Anupam became a product manager at MicroStrategy. It was a personal encounter with a matrimonial consultant that made him think about his entrepreneurial spirit. Mittal founded Sagai.com in 1997, which later became Shaadi.com, India’s first online matrimonial portal.
He also launched Mauj Mobile, India’s first mobile gaming company, and Makaan.com, an online property marketplace. Mittal was the Chairperson of the Internet and Mobile Association of India from 2006 to 2007.
