Luvottica, the name sounds scandalous and intriguing, right? So was the pitch presented by the founder. On season 3 of Shark Tank India, Dalip Kumar, Founder of Luvottica presented his love-making furniture brand. The sharks found it hard to control their laugh, instead, they were giggling like teenagers. Namita and Anupam made some interesting observations about the product.
How did the Sharks respond to Luvottica?
The only sharks who seemed to have a conversation with the founder were Namita Thapar and Anupam Mittal. The rest of the sharks were trying to control their laughter and, might I add, their blushes as well. Dalip addressed the problem that over the past two decades love making has reduced due to stress and boring sexual lifestyle, he further introduced his brand which offers ‘love-making’ furniture and meditation furniture as well. He claimed that there is nothing like this product in the market and hence has good growth potential. But the sharks were skeptical.

There might not have been anything more to the pitch because the no. of products they offered was very few and the sharks claimed that they see no market growth potential for this product. But all the sharks did have a fun time.
Starting with them pulling Ritesh’s leg, asking if he knew anything about the product since he is a newlywed. Ritesh, seemingly shy, claimed he had no idea. He was further involved in the conversation when Dalip mentioned that the product is suitable for the hotel industry. Namita had an interesting question: if the product is used for intimate activities and then the next day your relative sat at the same piece of furniture and asked what this piece of furniture is, how would you answer? Anupam commented “Ghar tudwane wala product hai ye toh”.
Was a Deal finally made?
Unfortunately for Dalip Kumar ji, no deal was made for Luvottica. Vineeta claimed that if in the past two decades, lovemaking has reduced because of stress then this is not the solution for it. She found the product irrelevant.
Aman advised the founder to separate their love-making furniture and Yoga & meditation furniture. And Anupam said that the market for sexual wellness products is already so small and introducing a product with an even smaller market doesn’t make sense. Ritesh and Namita also didn’t see the potential and claimed that they had no expertise in the field and they were out.
